Static artifact

Validation Archive

A central public record for assumptions, benchmark checks, pending artifacts, and publication standards behind the lab's computational relativity work.

rc=ln(1+2)r_c = \ln(1 + \sqrt{2})

What the tool does

The archive will collect derivation checks, symbolic-computation comparisons, numerical tolerances, references, and known limitations for the lab's computational relativity work.

Why it matters

Validation records are essential for reproducibility. They make it clear which outputs are trusted, which remain exploratory, and which require further review.

Connection to CTC paper

The CTC paper benefits from an explicit audit trail for tensor calculations, causal thresholds, energy-condition statements, and visualization choices.

Research role

This archive is the trust layer for the public tools. It distinguishes known results, checked educational artifacts, pending reproducibility work, and exploratory prototypes.

Near-term build

The archive should grow by adding source-linked benchmark equations, runnable notebooks, expected outputs, and reproducibility instructions for each public computational claim.

Purpose of the archive

The Validation Archive is the central academic trust page for Yuvan's computational relativity work. Its purpose is to make the boundary between established results, checked site artifacts, and future computation explicit. A tool can be useful as a learning and research-support surface before it is a complete engine, but any computed output must remain traceable to conventions, source equations, and reproducibility checks.

Current validated checks

Gödel chronology threshold check

gϕϕ=sinh2(r)sinh4(r),rc=ln(1+2)g_{\phi\phi} = \sinh^2(r) - \sinh^4(r),\quad r_c = \ln(1 + \sqrt{2})

The Gödel visualizer records the known sign change of the azimuthal metric component in the normalized coordinate used on the site. This is labelled as a known result and used as the first validation artifact for the lab pipeline, not as a new physical claim.

Metric-to-tensor pipeline integrity checklist

gμν=gνμ,gμνgνρ=δμρg_{\mu\nu}=g_{\nu\mu},\quad g_{\mu\nu}g^{\nu\rho}=\delta^{\rho}_{\mu}

The metric tensor artifact documents the checks required before publishing tensor outputs: signature, symmetry, inverse consistency, convention notes, and cross-checking against a known Gödel result.

Pending reproducibility artifacts

One explicit verified tensor component notebook

A future notebook should compute and verify one tensor component under stated conventions before broader symbolic output is presented.

Geodesic solver sanity check

The geodesic solver now has a planned sanity-check artifact. It defines baseline validation expectations but does not claim completed numerical outputs.

Static output images from the CTC paper

Selected figures should be archived with captions, equations, source data or generation settings, and a note on whether they are explanatory or computed outputs.

GitHub reproducibility archive

A public repository should eventually hold notebooks, scripts, expected outputs, environment notes, and versioned validation records.

Standards for future tool publication

  • State coordinate ordering, metric signature, units or normalization, and curvature-sign convention before publishing computed tensors.
  • Attach every derived output to a reproducible script, notebook, or transparent hand-check where possible.
  • Separate established literature results from site-generated calculations and exploratory visual explanations.
  • Prefer small, verified components over broad symbolic output that has not been independently checked.

No overclaiming standard

  • Known results must be labelled as known and not presented as original discoveries.
  • Derived outputs must show the validation checks used to trust them.
  • Exploratory visuals must not be described as proofs.
  • Energy-density language must be qualified as observer-dependent unless the observer field, frame, and conventions are fully specified.

Research caution

Static archive artifact only. It records the current validation posture and pending checks; it does not imply that unpublished notebooks or full tensor outputs already exist.
